Lindores Abbey Cask strength Limited bottling

Lindores Abbey is of course the spiritual home of Scotch whisky, it's roots dating back to the year 1494.
This 2022 cask strength limited bottling is one of the three core Casks of Lindores bottlings. This limited edition bottling was the second release in 
The Casks of Lindores  series.
This edition was exclusively matured in STR  (shaved, toasted & re-charred) red wine barriques from Spain. A non age statement edition, bottled on the 11th & 12th of April 2022 at a cask strength of 49.4% abv.
We cannot find any information about the numbers of bottles produced in this edition, however we would expect it to be quite low (in whisky terms) at around the 10,000 mark.
 
DGSM secured this bottle as always diectly from the distillery, at that time there were only 18 bottles remaining unsold.
 
Tasting notes.
Nose...... mellow & fruity, apricot jam, toffee & cinnamon, butter & custard
 
Palate..... sweet & spicy, dark fruits, treacle & cinnamon, some woody & smoky notes. very smooth with a silky texture.
 
Finish..... medium to long, spices, honey and caramel notes.
