Clynelish

This is a Special Limited Edition Clynelish release.
 
This bautiful Clynelish Highland single malt is one of only 3192 bottles.
(This is a very small number of bottles in whisky terms.)
Distilled in 2005 and bottled in 2020
 
A 2022 release and technically a distillery only available bottling, however a small quantity were made available at a particularly well known whisky outlet in Edinburgh.
 
We were just in the right place at the right time to secure this lovely bottle.
Double matured in Oloroso Seco casks at the Clynelish distillery in Brora, Sutherland. For those of you unfamiliar with Scottish geography... this is North, way North.  Situated on the North East coast of Sutherland near Dunrobin Castle and on the coast there should be some salty/briny influence in the flavour profile.
 
Nose. -fresh fruit, pears and apples, some dried fruit, leather, spices, cinnamon and ginger.
Taste.- Dried fruits, raisins, baked apples, oily mouth feel.
Finish.-  Dried fruits, nuts, aromas of leather, dried plums and a slight saltiness. A long finish.
