2022 Longrow Red 11

The Limited edition Longrow Red 11 is yet another Campbeltown single malt from The Springbank Distillery which was in high demand back in 2022         
 
Only 8,400 bottles were produced and many customers had to enter a ballot to secure this bottle. 
 
Matured for 7 years in a bourbon cask followed by a further 4 years in a Tawny Port cask.
 
The malt for this beauty was peat dried for up to 48 hours in order to obtain it's heavily peated character. (50-55 ppm)  bottled at cask strength 57.5% abv.
 
We have to conclude that this is really a bottle for the collectors but the tasting notes from those who have had a dram from this bottle tell a different story. High praise from many about the quality of this dram, leading us to believe that this bottle should be opened and enjoyed.
 
Tasting notes
 
Nose    honey, vanilla, light citrus note,rasberries,red currents
 
Palate   cream,oily slight effervescence, honey & caramel, very well ballanced
 
Finish   dry & woody with a sweet and sour lingering ballance followed by slight campfire ash
